Dungeons and
Dragons |
||
The game of Dungeons
and Dragons has been very popular since the 1980's and has recently seen
a revival of interest since the rerelease of the Third Edition of the
game by Wizards of the Coast. |
||
The game takes place
in the players' heads with the aid of conversation and dice. It
allows
the unbridled use of the players' imaginations in the cooperative creation
of worlds of fantasy. |
||
In the past year there has been a monumental
jump in the integration of the pen and paper role-playing game and
the computer role-playing game. The best example of this integration
is NeverWinter
Nights. NeverWinter Nights is a thriving on-line community of gamers
using computers as tools to play a greatly enhanced version of Dungeons
and Dragons. |
||
There are also other
ways that one can use the computer to assist in the playing of Dungeons
and Dragons.
A quick Yahoo or Google search will turn up a number of great resources. |
